However, one Colorado attraction that boasts being the only one of its kind in existence takes thrill-seeking to another level, as even its tongue-in-cheek name invokes a sense of terror.
Colorado's One-of-a-Kind Free-Fall Swing: The TERROR-dactyl
In the mountains that surround Manitou Springs, you'll find the Cave of the Winds Mountain Park, which is home to the TERROR-dactyl.
The TERROR-dactyl is a swing that takes riders on a terrifying yet brief trip through Williams Canyon at roughly 100 miles per hour.
The ride sits on a 200-foot cliff and can accommodate as many as two riders at once.
However, because of the nature of the ride, riders must weigh between 100 and 250 pounds, and there cannot be more than a 100-pound difference in weight between the two passengers.
Other requirements are that riders must wear either pants or shorts as the chairs were not designed to accommodate skirts, and riders must be at least 48 inches tall.
Comedian Bert Kriescher, seen here in a rare public appearance with a shirt on, took a ride on the TERROR-dactyl and is one of the most high-profile individuals to do so.
