The latest news regarding Colorado's new NWSL team comes in the form of an announcement that a brand new, 14,500-seat soccer stadium will be built in Denver to accommodate the franchise.

The stadium, which is being referred to as "multi-purpose," will be built in what is currently a large, 14-acre open space in South Denver known as the Santa Fe Yards.

This particular area of Denver sees quite a bit of traffic, and it has been reported that many residents are excited about the construction of the sports complex.

Interestingly, the stadium's location will be fairly close to another outdoor venue, Levitt Pavillion, which has a capacity of roughly 6,500.

The announcement not only outlined the plan to construct the massive new stadium, but there are also plans to implement a recreational park, bike paths, and even multiple restaurants.

While the 14,500-seat arena will be dwarfed by higher capacity venues including Mile High Stadium, Coors Field, and Ball Arena, one can't help but wonder if the stadium will eventually serve as a part-time music venue following its estimated completion in 2028.
