Despite the fact that there are still plenty of mines operating across the state, it's pretty rare for the public to get a glimpse of what goes on inside them.
However, sometimes we get lucky and stumble upon footage of some of the day-to-day operations that take place in some of Colorado's mines.
One of these aforementioned mines that is still operating is located just outside of Empire, Colorado, and is known as the Henderson Mine.
While it's uncommon for places like this to offer tours to the general public, you can take a virtual tour of the Henderson Mine below:

The Henderson Mine is a molybdenum mine that has been operating since 1976 and is one of the leading molybdenum mines in existence.
In fact, on Jan. 4, 2010, it was reported that the Henderson Mine had officially mined over a billion pounds of molybdenum.
The mine has gone through numerous changes over the years, including transitioning from using a railway system to transport the dirt and rock to a more modern system that uses massive trucks.
While the Henderson Mine is still operating, some of Colorado's mines have been abandoned, and if you keep scrolling, you can take a virtual tour of one of these now-defunct mines that was so large, it almost resembles a massive, underground city:
