While the Third Bridge, sometimes referred to as Ghost Bridge, is located pretty far out of the way of anything, this particular area was actually the setting of the devastating Sand Creek Massacre of 1864 which claimed many lives.

While this shameful event in Colorado history took place many years ago, reports of paranormal activity and unexpected tragedy have been reported at The Third Bridge seemingly ever since.

Because of the mystique surrounding the bridge, it has become a popular destination for ghost hunters and curious teenagers, but many of these paranormal investigations have ended in tragedy.

Tales of apparitions, accounts of spirits allegedly touching visitors in the night, and numerous deadly car accidents over the years have made this particular bridge infamous.

However, numerous ghost hunters who have visited the notorious Third Bridge have spoken highly about the experience, despite giving stern warnings to "keep your guard up."
