When exactly does daylight saving time begin in 2024? How fast will we start to lose daylight as we head into October and November? Keep reading to take a closer look at this year's time change.

When Does Colorado Fall Back?

Daylight Saving Time ends in 2024 at 2 AM on Sunday, November 3rd. To adjust to less daylight, Colorado sets the clock back one hour to Daylight Standard Time. The Centennial State has been turning back the clocks since 1918. Today most devices of the digital age can adjust to the time change by themselves.

Downside of the Time Change

Turning back the clocks might mean an extra hour of sleep for some Coloradans, but others may struggle with the loss of morning light. It stays darker longer. This can make it harder to wake up early for work or school. Health experts say the time change can affect sleep schedules, mood, and workplace injuries as we all adjust to the clock.

Noticing Less Daylight Yet?

By late September, the sun sets just before 7 PM around Grand Junction. By November 1st it will set by 6:30 PM. Sunset by December 1st will happen around 5:15 PM.
