Things to Do: End-of-summer Festivals and Evening Concerts Fill August Calendar
Colorado summer is here, and there's so much to do. Food festivals, fairs and community gatherings galore entertain from the mountains to the plains and from small towns to our largest cities.
Music fills every downtown gathering spot and park in Northern Colorado all summer. Greeley, Loveland, Windsor and Fort Collins all feature one or more nights of regular local performances. Scroll on to find out what's happening each week.

September 2024: Festivals and events in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and across Northern Colorado
Friday, Sept. 13
- Mexican Independence/UNC Night with Mariachi Aguila, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Downtown Greeley Friday Fest at Ninth Street Plaza
- Leslie Jones, 7:30 p.m. at Greeley's Union Colony Civic Center. Tickets $38-$78. Comedian Leslie Jones is a three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee as well as a Writer's Guild Award and NAACP Award nominee for her work on "Saturday Night Live." Honored as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People, Jones recently wrapped production on season two of the HBO Max series "Our Flag Means Death." She starred opposite Eddie Murphy in "Coming 2 America," for which she won an MTV Movie Award and was nominated for a People's Choice Award.
Sept. 13-15
- Wild Wonderful Weekend celebrates Mother Nature with food and fun at Centerra. The event includes a farm-to-table brunch, scavenger hunts, interpretive walks of the High Plains Environmental Center, Chapungu Garden Walk, goat yoga and Harvest Jamboree.
Thursday, Sept. 26
- Steve Miller Band comes to Blue Arena. Get tix at AXS.
Friday, Sept. 27
- Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top play Blue Arena in Loveland. Get tix at AXS.
- The Hoedown Hill Music Festival, brought to you by High Country Beverage and Suncruiser, hits Windsor on Sept. 27 and 28. Friday night opens with “A Tribute to Rock Legends.” Colorado’s Eagles tribute band The Long Run opens for The Petty Nicks Experience, a cross-pollinated Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band. Hoedown Hill Music Festival tickets via Tixr start at $32.86 ($27.50 + $5.36 fees) for Friday and $49.66 ($42.50 +$7.16 fees) for Saturday.
Saturday, Sept. 28
- The Hoedown Hill Music Festival, brought to you by High Country Beverage and Suncruiser, hits Windsor on Sept. 27 and 28. Saturday, Sept. 28, features talents sharing well-known hits of the 1980s from Asia and Journey. Hoedown Hill Music Festival tickets via Tixr start at $32.86 ($27.50 + $5.36 fees) for Friday and $49.66 ($42.50 +$7.16 fees) for Saturday.
October 2024 events in Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins and the Northern Colorado region
Friday, Oct. 4
- Ashley McBryde, 7:30 p.m. at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado. Tickets $58-$98. Grammy-award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in biker bars – and it shows. McBryde has gained critical acclaim as an authentic and courageous voice as she's earned six Grammy nominations and garnered honors from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. McBryde's latest album, "The Devil I Know," is available now, featuring chart-climbing lead single "Light on in The Kitchen."
Saturday, Oct. 12
- The Poudre Pour Art and Culture Fest from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Windsor History Museum, 100 N. Fifth St. in Windsor. This annual event celebrates the Poudre River corridor’s vibrant history and culture. This community event features live music and performances, visual and culinary arts, interactive educational exhibits and demonstrations, historical tours, and more. This year, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Los Martinez Bros (LMB) and Presidio will share the music stage, playing a variety of Latin and English music, notably Tejano or Tex Mex, Cumbias, Country, and R&B. - Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, 7 p.m. at Greeley's Union Colony Civic Center. Tickets $38-$58. Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox "Life in the Past Lane World Tour" blends modern-day earworms and iconic pop hits with the original styles that put American popular music on the map: ragtime, swing, big band, country/western, doo-wop and soul. Postmodern Jukebox is equal parts time-traveling musical variety show and career-launching talent platform, featuring a cast of performers from their wildly popular YouTube channel.

- Disney Jr. Live On Tour: Let's Play!, 6 p.m. at Union Colony Civic Center—tickets $47-$77. Mickey is getting ready for the biggest playdate ever at the Clubhouse with all his favorite pals – including Minnie and Goofy, the Puppy Dog Pals, Ginny and Bitsy from "SuperKitties" and Ariel from "Disney Jr.'s Ariel" – but mysterious weather keeps interrupting the fun. Can Team Spidey from "Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends" find out who is behind this and help save the playdate?
