There’s Now Only One of These Sandwich Shops in Colorado
It's funny how some restaurants take off in Colorado and some others just cannot get any traction. Once upon a time, there were a whole three of these shops in Colorado, now we're down to just one, again.
With all the excitement that goes on when we hear about an In-N-Out opening, or a Whataburger coming to town, this small chain can't get any respect in the Centennial State.
Nebraska looks at Colorado and says, "What's wrong with you guys?"

When I was young, back in the late '80s and early '90s, I worked for a few years at the Runza in Loveland; we had a lot of fun making and baking those Runzas, burgers, and chicken sandwiches. Runzas were popular, but the other sandwiches they had were hits, too.
Is It About the Name?
Based out of Nebraska, a lot of Coloradans just seem to be put off by the name, "Runza:" as if the food might give you "the runs," which is just mean; the word comes from the German, "runsa" which means, "belly."

Once upon a time, there were three Runzas open in Colorado: The one in Loveland, and two in Fort Collins.
