There are, indeed, a lot of Mexican restaurants across Colorado; they can be very successful with high profit margins and low overhead costs. One chain that began in 2002 in Centennial is planning a new location in Loveland.

Who is Los Dos Potrillos Coming to Loveland in 2027?

According to 9News, Los Dos Potrillos will be coming to Loveland sometime in 2027. Jose Ramirez opened his first restaurant in Centennial, offering to buy back any meal that customers didn't like. Apparently, the customers have liked what Jose has been serving, because as of 2026 they have six spots in Colorado: Centennial, Castle Rock, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Northglenn.

Where Might Los Dos Porrillos Go in Loveland?

While they aren't saying where they'll be as of this writing, my guess is that they'll be part of phase one of Avenue South, which is slated to open in 2027. It'll be a "trendy" location for them at Avenue South, it's near the interstate, and it will be good competition for Savina's Mexican Kitchen, opening soon across Highway 34 in Centerra.

Where Does the Name 'Los Dos Patrillos' Come From?

According to their site, Jose's father would call Jose and his wife's (Martha) two young rambunctious boys, Daniel and Luiz, "los potrillos"- as in "young colts." It turns out that those two brothers are the ones who built the last four locations (Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Denver). It would stand to reason that Daniel and Luiz are behind the upcoming Loveland spot as well.

Their menu sounds pretty tasty, with prices very reasonable: The most expensive thing I saw was a steak and seafood fajita for $35. They do carry their own craft beer and have several margaritas and specialty cocktails, too.
