Have you been a part of the pickleball craze? It's something I want to try in the near future. It's very popular these days.

What is Pickleball?

It's an indoor or outdoor racket/paddle sport. Consisting of 2 to 4 players hitting a plastic ball over a net. Watching people play, the game is basically a hybrid of tennis and even ping pong.

How much is the equipment to get started?

The racket/ paddles range from 40 dollars up to one hundred. The balls may be included in a set, if not those are 10 dollars and up for a set of 3 or six.

Can seniors play this game?

Of course, the low-impact sport is easy on your joints. Now I've seen some players make it a medium-impact sport.

There are courts in Montrose, nearby Ridgway, and in Delta too at Bill Heddles Recreation Center. The game is fast-paced mostly played and won at the net. In most places, you will need to bring your own net.

Another cool thing about the sport is you will burn calories, some people have said 200 per game. For a list of places in your area go to pickelheads.com and you will find your nearest locations to get started and play.
